Soft Side Waterbed Mattresses

 The Soft sided waterbed mattress is currently the most frequently used waterbed mattress at this time. Soft sided waterbed mattresses are made to be the same sizes as the conventional mattresses. You cannot however use a conventional mattress frame with the soft sided waterbed mattress.

The soft-sided waterbed mattress is made of a vinyl material. The mattress is surrounded by four foam pieces and placed around the sides of the mattress. This foam allows the mattress to retain its shape and appear as a conventional mattress. This means it does not need to be placed inside a boxed frame and can also be placed on a

box spring mattress or a conventional foundation. Please remember that you still will need a metal frame or another type of heavy duty frame to place this on.

The soft sided waterbed mattress has a fabric cover which is zippered around it. This allows for easy use of regular sheet sets, or if you chose waterbed sheet sets specifically made for the soft sided mattress.

Inside the soft sided mattress there are bladders or tubes. Within these tubes or bladders is where the wave reduction system is located. The soft sided waterbed mattress also comes with the option of adding a heating unit. Although the heating system is not required, many people opt to add it as it offers another level of comfort.
